Maui Medical Group and Kaiser Permanente announced the recent addition of new doctors.

Maui Medical announced the appointments of four new physicians, who join the 75-member staff of practitioners at one of the county’s largest multispecialty health care providers. They are:

* Dr. Soren Carlsen, urologist. He received his medical degree and residency training in general surgery and urology at University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. Prior to joining Maui Medical Group, he had his own private practice in Bellingham, Wash., and was one of two doctors at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, which specialized in urology. Carlsen is board certified in urology.

* Dr. Daniel Chevy, internal medicine. He received his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine in 2010 and completed his residency training at Yale New Haven Health-Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Conn. Prior to joining Maui Medical Group, he practiced as an outpatient internal medicine physician with Foundation Medical PartnersDowntown Medical Associates in Nashua, N.H.

* Dr. Marc D. Rosenthal, otolaryngologist. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1995 and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami in 1999. He completed his otolaryngology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and gained additional pediatric training at the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. He is board certified in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery and board eligible in sleep medicine.

* Dr. Coral Yap, pediatrics. She received her medical degree in osteopathy at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, Calif., and completed her residency training at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine pediatric residency program in Honolulu. Prior to joining Maui Medical Group, she worked on Oahu primarily at the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, while serving as the residency program’s chief resident. She is board certified in pediatrics and works in the Pukalani clinic.

Kaiser announced the appointments of two doctors to its Maui facilities. They are:

* Dr. Jennie Herrington, pediatric hospitalist based at Kaiser Permanente Maui Lani Medical Office, caring for patients hospitalized at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She earned her osteopathic degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, Calif., and completed her family medicine residency at University of Washington in Yakima, Wash., and her pediatric residency at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She has practiced as a pediatrician at Hilo Medical Center and Maui Memorial Medical Center and is board certified in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

* Dr. Anna Sokolowski, family medicine at Kaiser Permanente Maui Lani Medical Office. She received her medical degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where she completed her residency through the Advocate Illinois Masonic Family Medicine Residency program with a focus on women’s health. She is board certified in family medicine.
